The World Will End On May 21 2011!!!!!!!

The folks at familyradio.com say the world will come to an end starting May 21. The thing annoying me the most is that despite the immediacy of their prophesy they're still asking for donations on their website. Wetin they wan do with the kudi after May 21 2011????

Here are excerpts fro their website:

In 2 Peter 3:8, which is quoted above, Holy God reminds us that one day is as 1,000 years. Therefore, with the correct understanding that the seven days referred to in Genesis 7:4 can be understood as 7,000 years, we learn that when God told Noah there were seven days to escape worldwide destruction, He was also telling the world there would be exactly 7,000 years (one day is as 1,000 years) to escape the wrath of God that would come when He destroys the world on Judgment Day. Because Holy Infinite God is all-knowing, He knows the end from the beginning. He knew how sinful the world would become.

Seven thousand years after 4990 B.C. (the year of the Flood) is the year 2011 A.D. (our calendar).

4990 + 2011 – 1 = 7,000

[One year must be subtracted in going from an Old Testament B.C. calendar date to a New Testament A.D. calendar date because the calendar does not have a year zero.]

Thus Holy God is showing us by the words of 2 Peter 3:8 that He wants us to know that exactly 7,000 years after He destroyed the world with water in Noah’s day, He plans to destroy the entire world forever. Because the year 2011 A.D. is exactly 7,000 years after 4990 B.C. when the flood began, the Bible has given us absolute proof that the year 2011 is the end of the world during the Day of Judgment, which will come on the last day of the Day of Judgment.

Amazingly, May 21, 2011 is the 17th day of the 2nd month of the Biblical calendar of our day. Remember, the flood waters also began on the 17th day of the 2nd month, in the year 4990 B.C.

The Holy Bible gives several additional astounding proofs that May 21, 2011 is very accurate as the time for the Day of Judgment. For more information on this subject, you may request a copy of We Are Almost There, available free of charge from Family Radio.

God is proving to us that we have very accurately learned from the Holy Bible God’s time-plan for the end of the world.

Dallas Wiens, 3rd Man In U.S. to Receive Full Face Transplant.

WARNING!!! SOME READERS MAY FIND PICTURE DISTRESSING. READER DISCRETION ADVISED!!!!!!

A Texas man underwent a miraculous full face transplant last week to become only the third person in the U.S. to receive the groundbreaking medical procedure.
Dallas Wiens, a 25-year-old father from Fort Worth, underwent the intensive procedure in Boston last week, the city's Brigham and Women's Hospital said Monday.
"Today's tremendous news marks a new milestone in Brigham and Women's legacy in transplant surgery," Hospital President Dr. Betsy Nabel said.
"The pioneering achievement accomplished by the entire transplant team is a gift made possible by the most selfless act one human being can do for another: organ donation."
The procedure took about 15 hours and included a team of more than 30 doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, residents.
"This remarkable, anonymous gift is another example of the life-affirming power of organ and tissue donation," said Richard Luskin, president and CEO of New England Organ Bank.
Wiens suffered severe burns when his head touched a high-voltage wire in November 2008.
He has no memory of the incident. The contractor was helping his brother and uncle paint a church when, while high above the ground on a boom lift, he hit a power line.
"I'm told I lost control of the lift and ended up moving directly into the power lines," he said.
The accident left him in a coma for three months.
Doctors at the time were able to transfer skin and muscle from Wiens' back and thighs onto his charred skull, but they could not restore his lips or nose. The incident left him blind.

He has had nearly two dozen operations since.
"I do miss my sight," Wiens said last year. "But I miss the sensation of my face and my sense of smell the most."
The hospital approved him for the face transplant in October.
"I'm a little nervous, as you can expect, with any major procedure like this," he said before the operation. "I'm extremely excited over the possibility of just having a normal life back."
Weins had no health insurance at the time of the accident. Medicaid covered his costs initially, but eventually it dropped him when his disability payments put him over its income limits.
The Department of Defense will pay for the cost of surgery, he said. It's underwriting the transplant with the hope of eventually being able to help soldiers with severe facial injuries.

Bronx Pastor Charged With Raping, Impregnating 12-Year-Old Girl.

A Bronx pastor charged with raping a 12-year-old girl from his flock turned down a "sweetheart" plea deal that came with three years in prison.
Michael Clare, 38, refused the offer from prosecutors, despite "almost irrefutable proof" he impregnated the child, said Bronx Supreme Court Justice Megan Tallmer.
"He wasn't interested," Tallmer said in court Monday.
Clare's lawyer, Paul Brenner, asked the judge to consider probation instead of prison.
"I would never do that," she snapped, citing a DNA match between Clare and the victim's aborted fetus.
Clare - the married leader of the Harvest Worship Center and principal of the associated Harvest Prep school, declined comment outside court.

Authorities learned of the alleged crimes in June, when the girl, who now 15, told her parents and police that Clare had sexually preyed on her for three years.
Clare, who is free on $50,000 bond, faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of first-degree rape at trial.
Prosecutors believe he may have victimized other young churchgoers as well.
The judge said his preaching days are probably over, though, since his name would likely be added to the state sex offender registry following any plea deal.
"I don't see how he could continue his work as a pastor," Tallmer said.
Clare's lawyer said the clergyman will be vindicated at trial.
"He turned down the plea deal because he's innocent," Brenner said.
One prosecutor said that was a mistake.
"This was a sweetheart offer considering the evidence against him," the prosecutor said. "It won't get any better from here."

NYPD Officers Hit With More Charges Stemming From 2008 Rape Case

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Two New York City police officers made four visits within about three hours to the apartment of a woman they are charged with raping when she needed help, prosecutors said Monday as they added to a slate of charges against the officers.

Already fighting charges including rape, burglary and official misconduct, officers Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata pleaded not guilty Monday to additional counts of burglary, official misconduct and falsifying business records.
The charges all stem from a December 2008 incident at an East Village apartment building, where Moreno is accused of raping the drunken, semiconscious woman while Mata acted as a lookout, CBS 2′s Tony Aiello reported.
Both officers deny the allegations. Jury selection for their trial is expected to start next week.
The officers had been poised to go to trial earlier this month when Manhattan prosecutors abruptly announced that they planned to return the case to a grand jury — an unusual move so close to a trial. At the time, they declined to say why.
It became clear Monday. Prosecutors said they had found that surveillance cameras had captured the officers entering the woman’s building four times, not three, in the early hours of Dec. 7, 2008.
They initially were called to usher the 27-year-old home when she had trouble getting out of a taxi after a night out with friends. Then the officers repeatedly returned for periods of a half-hour or more, ultimately spending an hour there during their last visit, starting at 4:11 a.m., prosecutors said.
While on a meal break, “they snuck out of the precinct and went to her apartment,” Assistant District Attorney Coleen Balbert said. She said the new charges strengthened prosecutors’ case.
The officers’ lawyers said they weren’t sneaking around, and they said the new allegation of a fourth and final visit should fuel doubt about authorities’ account of the events.
Moreno’ lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, said the new timeline either contradicts authorities’ earlier statements about the time of the alleged rape or implies the officers returned after committing the alleged attack, something he suggested no one would do.
“The officers come back an hour later, after an alleged sexual assault was committed, to check up on the victim? It’s not consistent with common sense,” Tacopino told Aiello.
When the trial does take place, a taped conversation between the alleged victim and one of the officers could be key evidence.
WCBS 880′s Irene Cornell reported that wearing a wire, the woman confronted police officer Kenneth Moreno, saying she remembered getting up the stairs and sex with the officer. After she threatened to walk into the precinct and tell her story,  Officer Moreno apologized, admitted that he started out helping her and that things got a little crazy.
Moreno repeatedly told the alleged victim “nothing happened,” but when she pressed and suggested she’d make a scene inside the stationhouse, he eventually said “yes” twice when she asked whether he’d used a condom, according to the recording. He then again told her they hadn’t had sex.
Tacopina has said the officer’s seemingly incriminating statements were just his efforts to mollify a woman he thought could cost him his job.
Mata’s lawyer, Edward Mandery, says his client committed no crime.
The officers were stripped of their guns and badges after the allegations were made public. Moreno, 43, has been an officer for about 19 years. Mata, who is in his late 20s, has been an officer for about five years.
If convicted of rape, the officers face up to 25 years in prison.

Violence in Benue Takes New Turn As Onoja's Aide.

Gunmen kill Onoja’s aide in Otukpo

Unknown gunmen in the early hours of yesterday shot and killed Emmanuel Ajibo, an aide to the ACN senatorial candidate for Benue South, Gen. Lawrence Onoja.
Narrating the incident to newsmen in his Otukpo residence, Gen. Onoja said at about 5.30 am, unknown gunmen stormed the residence of his aide, Emmanuel Ajibo, located on Ibadan Street, Otukpo, where they shot and killed him in his room.
He said the unknown gunmen immediately fled, leaving their victim in a pool of his blood. He blamed the killing on those who wanted to rule Idomaland by crook or hook.
The former military administrator of Plateau and Katsina states condemned the killing of his aide and called on the police to immediately arrest the perpetrators of the gruesome murder and bring them to justice.
The Divisional Police Officer in Otukpo, Zakari Ibrahim, confirmed the incident, saying investigation to unravel the mystery behind the killing had commenced.
Meanwhile, with preparations towards the senatorial election in top gear, the office of the Senate President, Senator David Mark, yesterday raised the alarm that his campaign train had been attacked by some armed thugs on his way to Igumale, the headquarters of Ado Local Government in Benue State.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Publicity of the David Mark Campaign Organisation, Chief Adakole Elijah, the thugs, who ambushed the train on the outskirts of Igumale, forced the convoy of Senator Mark to detour to Okpoeja, the headquarters of Okpowu Local Government.
While directing the campaign train to divert to Okpoga, Mark was quoted as saying: "The lives of members of my campaign train are important to me. I do not want to lose any of you to the assault of the minority opposition.
"We would return to Ado Local Government on a latter day when the opposition would have reasoned that elections are not won by violence. I have ordered the policemen on this entourage not to fire a shot because I have a responsibility to protect the lives of indigenes of Benue South, Benue State as well as Nigerians in general."

Chris Brown Denies Leaking Own Nude Picture.

Chris Brown disappointed over his nude photos
Los Angeles, March 20 : Singer Chris Brown says he is upset that his nude photos have leaked, triggering questions whether it was a gimmick ahead of his next album release.
"I didn't want to put pictures out; that's not my intention. A lot of people were saying, 'Yo, he leaked the pictures, he was trying to get promotion'," Brown told a radio station.

"For me, I was always a singer. So unless I'm planning on trying to do porn, I don't think I'd want to just leak my wang out to the world before my album comes out," he said.

"It was disappointing to me that it was out, because I was like, 'Man, now it's gonna (look like) a gimmick behind it. And I don't want a gimmick behind anything that I'm doing'."

Brown's naked picture surfaced in early March, which showed him posing in the buff while standing in a bathroom, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Asked if he will be more cautious, Chris said: "Nah, I'm just living life, I'm just gonna have fun. Everything's out on the table. So I'm just gonna live my life, man."

Women Beware: Masquerades On The Rampage In Enugu!!!

Lots of times I've heard reference made to Enugu people as "backward" and "primitive" people.  I usually wave such aside as mere unfounded generalizations. However the recent activities of masquerades in Enugu have got me wondering if their traducers were right after all.

Under the guise of a Masquerade Festival 21st Century Enugu men went about terrorizing residents of Aku community, Igbo-Etiti Government Area of the state. Hers how PUNCH Newspaper captured the ugly scenario:

Outrage in Enugu as masquerades strip women
By Ozioma Ubabukoh, Enugu

Saturday, 19 Mar 2011

Odo masquerades on Friday stripped two women in Aku community, Igbo-Etiti Council Area of Enugu State, for allegedly wearing trousers.

The incident occurred in broad daylight. SATURDAY PUNCH gathered that the latest masquerade scourge is worse in Ugwunani village in Aku community, where a dreaded Ocho-oku diety linked to the Odo masquerades has been making life unbearable for residents, especially women.

Eyewitnesses said that one of those stripped, whose name could not be ascertained, was a visitor.

According to them, she was attacked at Eke-Aku by the masquerades, who completely removed her blouse and compelled her to pay a ransom of N1, 700 to regain her freedom for wearing trousers in the area during the period of the Odo masquerade celebration.

The case of the second victim, Lucy Igarra, was said to be worse as she was completely stripped by the masquerades, who accosted her a few metres from her family house at Umu-Eneke Quarters in Oshigo village and demanded why she wore a pair of trousers on a particular Odo masquerade day.

Our correspondent gathered that Igarra was a single mother of a set of twins and her ordeal started when one of the masquerades snatched one of her babies, prompting her to protest by daring the assailant to return the child.

Narrating his ordeal, the parish priest of Christ the King Catholic Church, Ugwunani, Rev. Fred Ogbu, explained that a young man, perhaps acting on the orders of some adherents of the dreaded Ocho-oku deity, had last week invaded the manse at about 12 midnight, demanding that he switched off his generator in reverence to the deity.

In compliance to the dictates of the deity, all residents and visitors to the Ugwunani area are expected to switch off all kinds of light at night on the day the Ocho-oku is on ground.

Ogbu, who said he was still new in the area, resisted the directive, a development that had continued to create ripples.

Most of the women and residents who spoke about the menace of the Odo masquerades craved anonymity for fear of being victimised.
